In search for sustainability in a diverse community: How can energy efficiency in the Borough of Haringey / Tottenham be better promoted?
The Government´s "Green Deal" scheme - which seeks to install energy efficiency measures in homes - has not been very successful. This project examines how we might better promote energy efficiency in a diverse community.
How do you best reach your audience? Who excactly is your audience? What are their real needs and wants? By directly engaging with Haringey Council, the Community Energy Lab, and Haringey residents, the project reveals barrieres to the residents installing energy efficiency measures in their homes. It recommends the Council (1) changes the language in which it communicates with its target audience; (2) builds greater trust, (3) collaborates more closely with local entrepreneurs.
